Amazing diner. Food was delicious. Fast & friendly services. So glad my friend and I stumbled upon this gem!! Hope to be back in the area soon. Cash only. 11/10 recommend! Get the cinnamon bread French toast!

What can be said about this place that hasn’t already? Believe the hype, if you love authentic Jersey diners, it literally doesn’t get any better. I put this place on my itinerary this past weekend because I knew I needed a solid breakfast. Could have gotten that in several other places along the way but why not stop here? The thing that impressed me the most besides the amazing food itself was how FAST it appeared. I swear it had to be under two minutes and I had the hash browns done extra crispy. The side of bacon was extremely generous for the price (I’ve paid more and gotten less) and of course the omelette was amazing. The originality and decor cannot be beat. Oh and the bathroom was SPOTLESS. Like I said, believe the hype. This place ROCKS.

The Summit Diner located right along Summit Avenue is an amazing place to eat. With convenient parking around town this place should be no problem to get to. I visited today with a buddy of mine at around 3:00pm, just an hour before closing. By this time the place was pretty empty so our server welcomed us in and had us sitting down to eat immediately. She took our orders quick and brought us our drinks even quicker. She was very kind and attentive the whole time and that really enhanced our experience. I had been here a few times, and have always loved the Taylor ham and egg sandwich they make, so I got that while my buddy got some pancakes and fries. As we waited for the food, which was not long mind you, we got to appreciate the interior of the diner. Surrounding us was beautiful mahogany wood paneling, classic diner booths, countertops, and original menu signage! When the food arrived my sandwich was gone before it hit the table and my buddy might as well have been missing the way he was lost in those pancakes. So while he finished his food I got to meet the owner, Jimmy, and inquired about the history of the place. He was very kind and open to talking to me about just how much the diner had been taken care of, explaining just how much of the place has remained unchanged, and it was a lot! It was clear in the way he spoke that he really cared about the place. Our conversation was short lived as he had to take a phone call, but it was a real pleasure all the same. By the time we were done speaking my friend was in his seat with an empty plate of pancakes and just enough fries for us to take home. We had a real great time and I definitely plan on coming back again. A note to anyone whos coming for the first time this place is CASH ONLY. That's tips AND food, so come prepared.

Food was really good. Simple menu and easy to choose. Home fries were my favorite, and even the toast was excellent. The server was very attentive and all the staff we interacted with was kind and patient. Loved this place and will be coming back

“A wonder old-school diner experience that feels like stepping into a time machine! The food was incredibly fresh, and the home fries were absolutely perfect—crispy, not burnt or soggy. A true classic spot for comfort food done right!”

Classic diner food. Huge portions served up in a traditional diner car setting. Family owned business where they cook the food right in front of you on a griddle. This place has delicious food and old school charm. Has a lunch special for 12.75 that include a sandwich, including a gyro and a few other selections, that includes soup, fries, coleslaw, and the sandwich. Enough for two meals for me. My husband grew up in this area and this is one of his favorite local breakfast places. He had bacon, eggs over easy and home fries. They kept the bacon coming. I estimated they fed him a pound of bacon (don't judge). Can't wait to return for breakfast or lunch.

It is as classic as it gets. When you come here expect to only pay cash and to wait for a seat or table. You are not the main character wait your turn. Know what to expect when you go in so you don't get upset or mad. It is worth the wait.

The Summit Diner was a great experience on a Sunday early afternoon. The coffee was perfect, the food came out quickly and tasted great, and the ambiance was friendly. The breakfast menu has lots of good options but I decided on a veggie omelet that came with hash browns. I also ordered an English muffin. Everything was delicious and I look forward to dining here again. It was a great experience to have a meal in a vintage dining car.
